When disaster strikes, our community comes together to help each other. Volunteers play a key role in preparedness, response, and recovery. If you’d like to get involved and train to be a volunteer before an emergency happens, visit the links below.
- Citizen Corps
- Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
- Medical Reserve Corps
- Fire Corps
- Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS)
- Neighborhood Watch
- National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD)
- American Red Cross
During an actual emergency, requests for volunteers will be communicated through local media channels and/or the above agencies. For your own safety, and to avoid hindering response activities, volunteers should never “self-deploy” to help with an incident.
